History of Panorama 1453 History Museum

Panorama 1453 History Museum, a project initiated by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2005, was completed in 2009. This magnificent work is the product of three years of elaborate work by eight artists.

Under the leadership of painter and cartoon director Hasim Vatandas, talented artists such as Ramazan Erkut (background), Yasar Zeynalov (painter of figures), Oksana Legka (painter), Ahmet Kaya (storyboard), Hasan H. Dincer (computer applications), Atilla Tunca (model) and Murat Efe (computer applications) have realized this magnificent project.

The first year of the project was spent with detailed research and there were drawings of more than 10,000 figures. Then, a 1/10 scale model study was carried out, which was an important step, and the deficiencies were identified. Later, a detailed study was started and the level of detail was a subject of debate among the artists. Within the team, some felt that so much detail that could not be seen from 14 meters away was unnecessary, but eventually, the artists reached a balance that allowed visitors to discover new details at different times. Additionally, advanced cameras that come with advancing technology will help discover these details.
