Beykoz Mecidiye Pavilion is a rare building from the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. The pavilion, located on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, in the Hunkar Pier area, was started to be built in 1845 by the Egyptian Governor Kavalali Mehmed Ali Pasha for Sultan Abdulmecid. After the Pasha's death, it was completed by his son Said Pasha and gifted to Sultan Abdulmecid.
