Here is a story about Hunkar Pavilion. Hunkar Pavilion is actually part of historical New Mosque which is located in Eminonu. This mosque was started build in 1597.
In that time Eminonu was quite complicated. Safiye Sultan who is mother of Sultan Mehmet III wanted to build a chapel and complex which could fix the complication and remind her name for years.
The fountain inside the pavilion was providing an important service in the historical building. At certain times, sherbet was distrubuted from the fountain.
